Spending her childhood in Forbes, Nadine the owner has always been a country girl at heart. She was naturally drawn to the quaint lifestyle of historical Morpeth and began working a French-style Café once known as LeBeau. With beautiful views overlooking the Hunter River she could see the potential this space has to offer. After two years of working for the previous owners, Nadine and her father Brian went into partnership and took ownership of the business together. After three amazing years of being business partners, Brian suddenly fell ill, and sadly passed away in February 2017.
Nadine and Brian always had a dream to make the place their own and so in his memory and after a short closure, the Café reopened its doors with a fresh new fitout and the new name "Common Grounds". The Common Grounds Morpeth family is made up of so many different faces in our local community, whether it be the amazing team at Telarah Butchery who provide us with quality meats, or Glee coffee who is helped us every step of the way in providing each customer with the perfect cup of coffee as a result of their unmatched roasting expertise.
Most important are the familiar faces that our customers are welcomed by day in and day out, our frontline staff which are the backbone of our business. Our frontline staff consists of our Chefs which have a particular focus on on fresh, house-made, nutritious meals, the baristas who are extremely passionate about coffee and always striving to deliver the perfect shot, and our waitstaff who always ensure every customer has the best possible experience.
